Why use Arigato Automation for Mailchimp Integration with Shopify?

There are multiple ways to integrate Mailchimp with Shopify. Why choose Arigato Automation for this purpose?

In a word: Flexibility.

Zapier vs. Arigato Automation

(Almost) All or Nothing

Zapier is effectively an all or nothing tool. Meaning that either you send all new customers that "accept marketing" to Mailchimp or you don't. There's no opportunity to narrow your settings or expand them. For example, you may want to ignore the accepts marketing flag because you need to be able to reach customers about product recalls or something that isn't marketing related. You can filter your actions down to the smallest detail in Arigato Automation. That can't be done in Zapier.

No Tagging for Segments

Zapier does not allow you to send the tags you set on your customers (or your orders) to Mailchimp. This can be done easily in Arigato Automation.

Flat Data

Zapier does not have access to all of your Shopify data. This means that you can only work with a limited data set. You can access major items attached to the Shopify customer, but no more. In Arigato Automation, you have a complete picture of your customer and can send any detailed data point you may need. For example, you could send a metafield attached to your customer to Mailchimp. Or which collections they purchased products from. Or if they've returned an item.

Flow vs. Arigato Automation

Shopify Flow does not offer integration with Mailchimp.

All or Nothing Synchronization

Shopsync is also an all or nothing tool. In this case, Shopsync grabs all of your existing customer data and takes it over, trying to synchronize both your existing Shopify and Mailchimp data and new customer data. If you're already using Mailchimp this is a complicated and unnecessary step that can mutate your data in ways you don't expect. Arigato Automation is a simple replacement of the existing integration. No syncing, no fuss.

No Multi-List Support

Shopsync can only synchronize one Mailchimp list. Arigato Automation can send to multiple lists in your account.

Flat Data

Much like Zapier, Shopsync does not have access to all of your Shopify data.
