Shopify Point of Sale (POS) Workflows
With the "Triggered from POS" workflow trigger option, you can easily run a workflow from the Shopify POS app when viewing a customer, product, order, and draft order.
Enable the Arigato Automation Point of Sale Integration
You must first enable the Arigato Automation app in Shopify POS by going to:
Shopify Admin > Point of Sale > Settings > POS Apps
Click on "POS Apps" to view apps that can be enabled in POS.
In "POS Apps" click on the Arigato Automation app.
Then, click the "Add" button.
You should now see the app is enabled for POS.
Creating New POS-Enabled Workflows
Go to "Create Workflow", and select the "Point of Sale" workflow type.
Click on the type of workflow you want to create.
Updating Existing Workflows to Appear in the POS App
By default, none of your existing Arigato Workflows will be selectable to run in the POS app itself. To allow a Workflow to be run via POS, you must select the "Triggered from POS" trigger.
For Canvas Workflows, click the Start node:
And check the "Trigger from POS" option.
For legacy workflows, click on the trigger settings:
And check the "Triggered from POS" option.
Running Workflows from the Shopify POS App
Workflows that have the trigger "Triggered from POS" can be run when viewing a Customer, Order, Draft Order, or Product.
For example, in the POS, go to edit a Customer and you should see an Arigato Automation action. Click to open.
Your list of enabled Customer workflows will be shown. Click "Run".
The button will show as "loading" while the workflow queues to run.
Finally, you should see a success message such as "Workflow queued".
Troubleshooting
- The Arigato Automation action isn't showing up in POS when viewing a customer/product/order/draft order.
- Ensure the app has been enabled in the Shopify Admin from: Point of Sale > Settings > Arigato Automation > "Add" the app.
- Workflows are not showing up in the POS action.
- When you click on the "Arigato Automation" action, a list of workflows from your account will be loaded that match the following criteria:
1. Workflows that use the "Triggered from POS" trigger type.
2. Workflows that match the object type. i.e. Only customer workflows can be run when clicking on the Customer action in POS.
3. Workflow must be enabled.
- When you click on the "Arigato Automation" action, a list of workflows from your account will be loaded that match the following criteria:
- When I open the Arigato Automation action in POS I see an error.
- A temporary error may be caused by the application be unavailable for a short period of time.
